President of the International Islamic Business Association Marat Kabaev, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali and Managing Director of the Free Economic Zone Enzeli Mohammad Vali Ruzbekhan at a virtual conference on Wednesday stressed the need to develop trade, export and import of halal meat.

The virtual conference was organized by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow to study trade in halal products and ways to expand this type of trade between the two countries, IRNA reports.

The International Islamic Business Association is a trade union in Russia, the main purpose of which is to promote Islamic trade with a focus on the production, export and import of halal meat.

The organization was founded to bring together businessmen from Russia and other countries, regardless of nationality. It creates jobs, facilitates the production, export and import of halal meat with the support of entrepreneurs, taking into account the spiritual values of Islam.

Speaking at the meeting, Iranian Ambassador Jalali said that taking into account U.S. unilateral actions and tough sanctions against Iran and Russia, it is necessary to use regional capabilities to solve problems caused by the sanctions, including capabilities of the International Islamic Business Association.

He said that foreign investment between Islamic countries and non-Islamic countries is very low making about 11 percent of their core potential, adding that there is a need for synergy and unity between Islamic countries to overcome this situation.

Emphasizing the need to strengthen and develop the private sector between Iran and Russia to increase trade between them, Jalali said: "We need to ensure synergy between the private sectors of the two countries".

President of the International Islamic Business Association Marat Kabaev, in turn, stressed that the main focus of the club is on the production, export and import of halal meat, and expressed the readiness of the union to cooperate in this area, as well as in other areas of economic activity with Iran.

Managing Director of the Free Zone Enzeli Mohammad Vali Ruzbekhan also mentioned the opportunities for the two countries in the field of food, agriculture and industry, as well as appropriate land, air and sea communications and called for development of trade relations between the two countries.
